Tay's Readings

My Top Three Genres of Novels!

My favorite type of literature is dystopia. The idea where the most imperfect world comes into fruition. Specifically, A community or society that is undesirable or frightening..

Some examples of dystopia novels are:

The greatest dystopia novel I have ever read is Do Android Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. Otherwise known as the book version of Bladerunner.

As an enthusiastic storybuilder for Dungeons&Dragons, of course I have to love the fantasy genre in some aspect. Growing up, this was my father's favorite genre of novels. Fantasy within itself is truly an escape from where you are in the world, these fantasy novels could have wonderful animals beyond your imagination, powerful magic, grand empires, and so on.

Some examples of fantasy novels are:

The best fantasy novel I've ever read is The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. If you're curious about it, just know that I suffered through a solid 14 books to finish it all!

This is where it gets spicy. Horror stories are horrifying and every turn of the page could give you a fright! With gruesome images of gore, scary stories that will keep you up at night, and fearful descriptions that will keep you on your toes!

Some examples of horror are:

The most gruesome horror book is definitely Hell House by Richard Matheson. This book is all about despair and desparation as a team of investigators figure out the murders of the Belasco House!
